The Maverick’s base powertrain is a hybrid with a 2.5-L engine and an electric motor. The setup pushes 191 hp and comes with a standard front-wheel drivetrain and CVT transmission. Ford has availed a non-hybrid variant incorporating a 2.0-L turbocharged engine with a power output of 250 hp. This engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and an optional all-wheel drive system. Maverick also features many driver-assistance features, including adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, and pre-collision braking.

Maverick has a standard max payload of 1,500 lbs and up to 4,000 lbs of tow rating. The vehicle reaches this capacity when equipped with a Class III hitch or the 4K tow package comprising a seven-pin connector. The preferred engine setup for this towing power is the 2.0-L EcoBoost with the all-wheel drive system.

The Ford Maverick also has an impressive range of safety features to keep you and your passengers safe. Standard equipment includes AdvancedTrac electronic stability control with rollover mitigation technology, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert, and lane-keeping system.
